5 Fun Pot of Gold Craft Ideas

1. Pot of Gold Coin Toss Game

Turn crafting into a fun game! Cut out a pot shape from black construction paper or cardboard and glue it onto a large poster board.

Decorate with glitter, shamrocks, or rainbow stickers. Use gold-painted bottle caps, plastic gold coins, or foil-wrapped chocolate coins as “gold.”

Kids can stand back and try to toss the coins into the pot. For an added challenge, draw different point zones around the pot and turn it into a scoring game!

2. 3D Rainbow Pot of Gold Craft

Create a colorful 3D scene! Start with a small black cup or make a pot from construction paper rolled into a cylinder.

Cut rainbow-colored strips of paper and glue them in an arch over the pot. Fill the pot with crumpled gold tissue paper or gold-painted pom-poms to look like treasure.

Add cotton balls at the ends of the rainbow for fluffy clouds. This makes a great St. Patrick’s Day decoration!

3. Gold Coin Shaker Jar

Make a sensory craft that kids will love! Take a clear plastic jar and fill it with gold sequins, glitter, plastic gold coins, and tiny shamrocks.

Add a few drops of green food coloring to water and fill the jar (or use clear glue for a slow-moving effect). Secure the lid tightly with glue, shake it up, and watch the gold swirl inside.

4. Pot of Gold Treat Bags

Make a sweet treat surprise! Use small black paper cups or bags as the “pot” and fill them with gold-wrapped chocolate coins, rainbow candy, or popcorn dusted with edible gold glitter.

Decorate the outside with shamrock stickers or draw a rainbow. These make great party favors or little surprises for St. Patrick’s Day!

5. Paper Plate Pot of Gold Mask

Turn a paper plate into a fun St. Patrick’s Day mask! Cut the plate in half and paint the bottom black to look like a pot.

Glue gold foil circles or crumpled yellow tissue paper on top as the gold. Cut out eye holes, attach a popsicle stick handle, and decorate with rainbows, shamrocks, or glitter.

Hold it up and pretend to be a lucky leprechaun guarding your treasure!
