5 Fun Leprechaun St. Patrick’s Day Craft Ideas
1. Leprechaun Paper Plate Mask
Turn a simple paper plate into a fun leprechaun mask! Cut out the center of a paper plate to create a hole for the face.
Paint the outer ring orange to resemble a leprechaun’s beard. Then, cut out a green construction paper hat and glue it to the top of the plate.
Add a black band and a gold buckle to the hat using paper or glitter. Attach a craft stick to the bottom so kids can hold up their masks and play pretend as mischievous leprechauns!
2. Lucky Handprint Art
Make an adorable keepsake with a leprechaun made from your child’s handprint! Start by painting the palm of the hand peach and the fingers orange for the beard.
Press it onto white paper and let it dry. Then, add a green paper hat, googly eyes, and a tiny smile.
Decorate the background with shamrocks, rainbows, or pots of gold for an extra festive touch!
3. Leprechaun Hat Treat Cups
Create fun leprechaun hat treat holders using small paper cups or mini flowerpots. Paint the cup green and flip it upside down to form the hat.
Cut out a black paper strip for the band and glue it around the bottom edge, then add a gold paper square for a buckle.
Fill the hat with gold-wrapped chocolates, rainbow candy, or other festive treats – perfect for party favors or classroom gifts!
4. Popsicle Stick Puppet
Make a playful leprechaun puppet using popsicle sticks! Start by gluing four to five sticks together for the body.
Cut out a green hat, orange beard, and a tiny suit from construction paper and glue them onto the puppet.
Add a small peach-colored circle for the face and stick on googly eyes. Kids can use these puppets for storytelling, puppet shows, or just for fun!
5. Magical Leprechaun Footprint Hunt
Create a fun St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt with leprechaun footprints!
Cut small footprints out of green construction paper and tape them around the house leading to a “pot of gold” (a small bowl of chocolate coins or lucky treats).
You can also dip a sponge in green paint and stamp footprints onto paper for a reusable version. This craft makes for an exciting surprise on St. Patrick’s Day morning!
