5 Fun Horsey Easter Craft Ideas

1. Hobby Horse Bunny Ride

Create a fun Easter-themed hobby horse using a wooden stick, a sock or felt for the horse head, and pastel decorations. Add felt ears, button eyes, and yarn for the mane and tail.

For an Easter twist, make a mini set of bunny ears and attach them to the horse’s head, or decorate the mane with faux flowers and ribbons.

Kids can “ride” their Easter pony around the yard or living room during an egg hunt.

2. Easter Egg Horseshoe Wreath

Make a horseshoe-shaped wreath using cardboard or foam board. Cut out a large horseshoe shape and paint it in spring pastels.

Decorate it with mini plastic Easter eggs, faux flowers, and horse-themed cutouts or stickers (like tiny boots, carrots, or saddles). Add a ribbon at the top to hang it on a door – perfect for a barnyard-style Easter decoration.

3. Carrot Treat Bags for Toy Horses

Make tiny fabric or paper “carrots” and fill them with shredded paper or small surprises. Tie the tops with green ribbon or tissue paper to look like carrot tops.

These can be pretend treats for toy horses or part of an Easter playset. You can even decorate a box to look like a stable and add these carrots as Easter surprises for each horse toy inside.

4. Horse Mask with Bunny Ears

Create a horse mask out of sturdy paper or lightweight cardboard. Cut out the basic horse face shape and eye holes, then decorate with markers, yarn for the mane, and stickers.

For Easter fun, add tall bunny ears to the top and let kids color the whole thing in soft spring colors. Attach a stick or elastic band so they can wear or hold their horse bunny mask during Easter games.

5. Mini Barn Diorama with Easter Surprise

Craft a small 3D barn diorama using a shoebox or small cardboard box. Paint or cover it to look like a barn, then add paper horses, chicks, and bunnies inside. Hide tiny eggs made of clay or paper behind hay (shredded paper) or inside mini stalls.

It’s a creative, hands-on project that combines imagination, farm life, and Easter surprises – all in one adorable little scene.
